This Privacy Policy describes how NotePin ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our browser extension.

        Summary: We do not collect, store, or transmit your
        notes to any external server. All data stays in your browser's built-in storage.
      

1. Data Collection

NotePin does not collect any personal data.

When you create a note, it is saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync. This data is synced only across your own signed-in browser instances via Chrome's built-in sync mechanism. We have no access to this data.

We do not send your notes to any external server.
We do not track your browsing history.
We do not collect analytics or usage data.

2. Data Storage

NotePin uses chrome.storage.sync to store your notes. This means:

Notes are stored locally in your browser profile
If Chrome sync is enabled, notes sync across your signed-in devices
Data is subject to Chrome's storage quotas (~100 KB total)
You can export or delete all your data at any time from the fullscreen view

3. Permissions

NotePin requests the following browser permissions:

storage — To save and sync your notes across devices
activeTab — To read the current tab's URL for domain-based note filtering and badge counts
contextMenus — To provide the right-click "Save to NotePin" menu item

4. Third-Party Services

The extension uses open-source libraries (Bootstrap 5.3, jQuery 4.0.0) that are bundled directly within the extension. No external CDNs or third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

5. Website

The NotePin website is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts.

6. Your Rights

Since NotePin does not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have any questions, you may contact us using the information below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
